Graduating Project: Inequality and Innovation (Excel/ Python)
This is my semester long study that I needed to complete in order to graduate from California State University Sacramento with a degree in economics.

For this project I needed to find previous studies within the economic discipline and summarize their findings in order to learn from them. Then I created my own hypothesis and looked for data from trustworthy sources and databases. My hypothesis was that more equal nations (countries with lower GINI scores) had higher rates of innovation (patent applications per capita). Then after cleaning the data in excel and running a regression analysis in jupyter notebooks, I wrote a paper on my results. In the end even though the correlation matrix and data visualization looked promising my hypothesis was not statistically significant. I then made a PowerPoint presentation and demonstrated my findings to a board of economics professors who would critique and comment on my analysis.
Here is a link to my full paper and the slides I used for my presentation to the board.
